This wedding has a special place in my heart because it took place close to where I grew up! Laura and Tyler were married in Fairhope, Alabama and celebrated their reception at The Grand Hotel in Point Clear. The Grand Hotel is a historic landmark, dating back to the 1840s. Overlooking Mobile Bay, it was a prime vacation spot for Victorian-Era families. Through fires, floods and hurricanes, the Grand Hotel has endured and remains to be a place of enjoyment for both locals and travelers from all over the US. It is a very special place to Laura and her family- her parents celebrated their honeymoon there!
I hope you enjoy these highlights from their wedding day! A very special thanks to the talented Michael Newman, for assistant shooting. Also, thank you to Jeff and Meggan Haller of Keyhole Photo for providing some extra photos for this blog post!
Laura began her day getting ready with her bridesmaids at the hotel, and let me just say she was the most low maintenance bride I have ever seen! She was calm and happy the whole morning.
Laura and Tyler had their first look under a large oak tree by the bay. It was beautiful! However, I think I got more emotional watching Laura’s dad see her for the first time in her wedding dress. Such a special and sweet moment.
I am a little obsessed with the bridesmaids bouquets! These bright coral peonies were incredible.
The ceremony was absolutely stunning, with the music written and performed by Laura’s older brother. He was accompanied by two strings musicians and soloist Myles Garver.
Laura and Tyler had a literal “off into the sunset” moment! The light was beautiful!
This was hands down, one of the most scenic receptions I have ever filmed! Beautiful warm sunlight by the bay, a colorful sunset and the glow of cafe lights over the dance floor. So fun! Laura’s four layer cake topped with cascading white hydrangeas was… amazing.
Laura and Tyler, I wish you all the best as you begin married life! It was a joy getting to be a part of your day.
